KIND WORDS

A life in design has taken me around the world. It has introduced me to clients and coworkers who have become my dearest friends. Writers, editors, illustrators, photographers, designers, and planners have generously shared their talents and experience along the way. And here, they have been kind enough to share their experiences of our work together to help build new relationships through design.

It is with great humility and my deepest thanks and appreciation to these dear friends for taking time to contribute to this page.

"Bea Jackson is a gifted designer and art director,

a first-class project manager, and a supremely intelligent, thoughtful, and caring person.

Though we spent over eight years as colleagues,

I never stopped being amazed at the energy, initiative,

and plain good sense she brings to every aspect of her work."

SVP KID'S PUBLISHING AND MEDIA, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

"Bea has an amazing talent not only for design, but for seeing

every step needed in a process and planning for each with

one eye on the client, one eye on the audience,

and both eyes on how to bring it all together

. . . and make it look easy and fun."

— STEPHEN K. WEINER, OTTENHEIMER PUBLISHERS

"You are such a pleasure to work with . . .

very few people that I have met in either my investment

or artistic life blend together talent and class as well as you do.

I wish you only the very very best! "

— ROBERT B. (BOBBY) HAAS,

AUTHOR, AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHER, AND INVESTMENT BANKER

"We hired Bea to come in and turn around a project that was crashing. With a small budget, very little time, and a great deal of enthusiasm, she came in, listened, and brought our entire team together. Not only was the project a success, but the spirit she brought to our team was a success as well."

— JIM SUTTOM, BRASSEY'S INC.

"I rarely come across someone who is so lovely to work with

and who understands our property and cares for maintaining

the integrity of it as you have. Your art direction and typography would make Beatrix Potter proud, and indeed, makes my job easy."

— FELICITY RYAN, FREDERICK WARNE & COMPANY

"Dear Ms. Jackson, I am compelled to write with my deepest

thanks. Your design of my book is a visual reflection

of what I was feeling as I wrote each word.

Thank you for bringing your extraordinary vision

to my humble words."

— THOMAS B. ALLEN, AUTHOR, GREEN HORN BLOWING

"Bea, I enjoy your passion for art, and type, and cooking, and wine.

I love how you mentor my newer artists.

But you really need to learn how to dead-head your garden."
